Dutchess Lake 18-01-11

What a cracking day to be fishing down on Dutchess Lake.
Shame the fishing was very poor.

Purdown springs

It was very soggy under foot on the Dutches land!

On the way down to Dutchess lake I came across this
new stream!
The Dower House at Stoke Park
can be seen seen in the back ground.
A seasonal spring in the grass!

Water coming out of another spring

All that water has to go some where,
straight into Dutches lake.

River Frome, up and running

The Bristol Frome over 3 feet deep than usual.

The River Frome at Snuff Mills nearly
over the bank.

Not much space under the bridge at Broom Hill
Stapleton.

The water in the Snuff Mills garden is coming in from the drainage holes
to the river.

The Snuff Mill Weir nearly under!!

Some new fishing spots to try

There is a Kingfisher in the middle of the V on the tree
over the other side of the river.

This is the River Frome from the Colston Weir (below) to

Blackberry Hill in Stapleton, Bristol.

Very picturesque bridge in the trees

A lovely half hour short walk

With plenty of Birds (feathered variety) and some other 4
legged wild life as well.
Not to muddy under foot and no hills.

Soon the main path passed this stretch will be upgraded to a cycle path
This should not affect the fishing or the wild life.
