New venue

The Yacht Club Portishead
This spot is ideal to escape the heavy tidal rip
when the spring tides are in full swing.
I was invited to fish with my eldest sun,
and we decided to try here.
The photo above is looking towards the Yacht Club and Lifeboat station.
The tide was at 09.45 and was 13.5mtrs.
We fished from 07.15 till 11.30.
The photo below is looking to the east.

The baits used were Squid, Mackeral, Sandeel and Ragworm.

The only fish caught was this Conger of about 8lds.

Problems to watch out for are the yachts and

people swiming!!!
Casts of 40 - 60yrds will land you on rough ground

but a good wack out to 80 - 100yrds will clear the rough ground.

This is also a good low tide mark but very muddy in places.

Once again watch out for the fast rising tides.
