How far in 2hrs 03mins 30secs

Cor how hard was it today.
Nerves got the better of me and I was sick
as pig before my training run.
Left home at 08.00 and finished at 10.03.30.
The last 20minutes were really hard.
There was light rain on and off all the way round and
helped keep me cool.
Well how far did I run?
14.23 miles, 21504 steps.
Not to bad but slightly short of my target.

Friday 29 August 2008

How many?

Nearly the end of the week and still they keep coming.
While this Beech 200 G-KLYN was training,Vickers VC10 XV105 (Cor what a cracker) was on apron 3
awaiting departure.

Grob G-BYXY was on apron 1,
With Diamond DA-40 G-CCLV.

So whats happening now.

I have just compleated a 53mins 35sec run.
Covered 6.3 miles.
With a good hill climb half way round.
I will be running the Bristol 1/2 Marathon on the 14-09-08.
Yep just over 2 weeks to go.
I hope to complete the run in 1hr 50mins, but would like to be under 1hr 47mins.
Thats going to be tough going.
On sunday morning 31-08-08 I will do a 2hr run, then its
slowing down and doing other training for the following 2 weeks.
After that 2 weeks off hard training and hopefully some good fishing
both freshwater and sea. Tidy the garden as the dull weather has
trashed it.

Blankety Blank

Here I go again.
Picked my eldest son up at 07.00.
Arrived at Rockingham around 07.15.
"Looks good" says Russell.
"Sure does" says I.

Set up my umbrella first as it is raining and blowing very hard.
Setting up my rods and cast out.

Great here I go!
Baits were Rag, Squid, Mackeral and Sand Eel.
Cast again, again, again and so on.

Russell carrying his rig back to the rod.
Weed was blocking the top eye.

No bites and no fish for both of us. Ooh dear!

Russells rods about to take a paddle
Near the top of the tide the waves came over

the top of the the grass bank.

It soon swept past my brolly and started going for my tackle box.
A quick shuffle of the tackle box, bait and bits.
Then pick up the brolly?!!!!
After 15 years it finally had enough and broke.

Last cast and it had to happen!
Over run on the reel and oops a birds nest
and pop goes the rig.

Another wave heading to wards my fishing kit.

But still had a really good laugh.

An explanation

Thank you Nismar for your comments.
All my aircraft photos are taken at Bristol Filton Airfield, U.K. unless
it says other wise in the daily blog title.
The photos of the aircraft landing at Filton are taken from the A38
road that passes near the end of the runway.
All my photos are taken from out side the airfield boundry wire.
Thank you for reminding me that I forgot to fill in the photo details.

German Pipper PA-34 Senaca

This PA-34 D-GPTT visited for a few hours and departed

Fishing the Cottage / WOT NO FISH

Went down to Portishead and fished a spot called the Cottage
This car carrying ship, "Autopremier", passed by inbound to Royal Portbury Dock.
A strong wind from left to right was blowing and made casting difficult.
This is usually a good Conger spot but I think they were all staying at home
as I caught nothing not even a bite.

This is a Liquid Patrolium Gas, "Marina", carrying vessel

heading to Avonmouth docks.

I dont know where this one was going.
